The next 6, 7, 8 & 9 June 2014 will be presented in Paris and its surroundings the second edition of the awaited Weather Festival. The festival will settle as a new option for techno lovers, finally putting the French capital on the map of the international electronic music scene. Four days of celebration shared between Paris, the suburbs, big airports, parks and clubs.
The opening party will be the 6th of June at the prestigious Institute of the Arab World presenting Timeline, Mount Kimbie, The Moritz Von Oswald Trio featuring Tony Allen & Max Loderbauer, and Rouge Mécanique.
The main event will take place within the 25.000 square meters of Le Bourget, an old airport that is used currently for private flights and that in this occasion will host renowned artists like Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Len Faki y Marcel Fengler, all of them being regular residents of the mythic Berlin’s club Berghain; as also Ricardo Villalobos, Chris Liebing, Moodymann, Seth Troxler, Margaret Dygas and many other artists that will spread between 4 stunning stages. From the afternoon of Saturday 7th of June to the morning of Sunday 8th the event’s organizers expect more than 30.000 people.
As for the closing it will go through the whole day of the 9th, which is bank holiday in France, at another picturesque place: the beautiful Bergère Park in the town of Bobigny. Being this one the most artistic from the 3 events and having 4 different stages it will introduce the collective Juste Debout, organizers of one of the biggest house/hip hop dance contest in the world. The main stage will present the supergroup from Detroit 3CHAIRS, formed by Theo Parrish, Moodymann y Rick Wilhite, being this one its first performance in France and leaving the rest of the stages to emerging artists from the French techno scene.
To promote Paris as a major destination and avoid unwanted competition Weather Festival will also create its own off, calling it as it couldn't be other way Le Off. During the four days of the festival there will be a whole bunch of alternative parties, events and more artists at the clubs Concrete, Rex Club, Machine du Moulin Rouge and Batofar. And not to leave anyone behind, the organizers propose activities of transmission and electronic music education for children and youngsters creating a mini festival also in parallel to the main event, completely for free.
It looks then that the second edition of the Weather Festival is coming strong, which is well reflected in the Part 1 and Part 2 of their teaser video, where they tell us how even some aliens are getting prepared to come to this big celebration. And it is not surprising, since this festival is anticipating a party from another world.
